The Currumbin Palm Beach RSL Veteran Support Centre (VSC) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compensation Advocate to join the team.

You will be providing advocacy services to ex-service and serving personnel, widows and widowers, allied veterans and their partners and family members. You will be responsible for interviewing and advising clients, conducting research, and preparing claims, providing training assistance to new advocates, providing outreach service to veterans with limited mobility or in palliative care, and engaging with external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following competencies:

– ADTP trained

– Guide to assessment rate of Veterans’ pensions

– Compensation Permanent Impairment Guide

– Proda Online service

 

You will also have a good knowledge of the relevant legislation, such as the Veterans’ Entitlement Act 1986 and the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004.

CHIEF KITCHEN STEWARD

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chief Kitchen Steward will support with leading a team of kitchen stewards who work to maintain the cleanliness of all food production outlets including operating commercial dishwashing machines throughout the club.

Key responsibilities include:

Effectively supervise Kitchen Stewards during rostered shift.
Train team members ensuring they maintain a professional manner and ensure they are up to date with requirements of the kitchen.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all areas of the kitchen.
Undertake deep cleaning of kitchens including and ensuring all checklists and tasks are completed to the highest of standards.
Clean and sanitise equipment, utensils, and dishes to meet health and safety standards.
Handle waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with company policies.
Work safety with chemicals to assist with cleaning processes.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to appropriate department.
Assist with receiving deliveries and managing stock.

 

To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Understanding of Commercial kitchen equipment, chemical handling, food safety and WHS requirements
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational and time management skills
Good presentation and communication skills
Able to work a 7-day roster including morning and evening shifts
