We welcome back Alex McKerchar to the Currumbin RSL family!

 

Alex McKerchar has been an Executive Club Chef for over 20 years, investing his time at hugely popular venues on the Coast.

A Currumbin local of 20 years, he enjoys the laid back lifestyle with his family. Back when he originally started at CRSL from 2002 to 2007 it was his first appointment as Executive Chef in the Club Industry.

Collectively his highlight was working with the team at Currumbin RSL, its dynamic’s and is eager to explore new opportunities returning back today.

Previous professional highlights from his time working at the Customs House & Pier Nine Seafood Restaurant’s in Brisbane and notably retaining “three hats” honour in the Gourmet Traveller magazine restaurant guide whilst at Pier Nine in 2001 as well all the accolades of his time at Currumbin RSL.

In 2012 he performed at HOTA’s Inaugural Three Chef’s Lunch event “Chefs cooking workshop” creating a three course organic signature menu for guests, the only Club chef to do so.

Today he is a finalist in the 2020 Queensland Club Industry Chef of the Year competition.

Having returned to his role as Executive Chef at the club after 13 years he is very excited on the fresh new look of the Club and eager to bring his style of bistro food to Currumbin with a strong focus on pursuing to change the profile of club food.

His passion for cooking remains just as strong today and always has the love and support of his family, who understand his dedication.
