Movember was originally created by a group of mates in Adelaide, Movember is now a worldwide phenomenon, seeing men grow facial hair (not always well) throughout the month of November to raise money and awareness for men’s health issues. La Bocca Pizzeria and Bottle Shop at Currumbin is not only creating a Movember group they are also holding an event to celebrate the beginning of their hairy plight.  In late October ‘La Bocca @ the Dock’ incorporates live music, great food and a barber complete with cut throat ready to shave hipsters back to baby bare ready for the November growth. La Bocca’s event ties in with its second birthday.  Running for two successful years at Currumbin RSL, this pizzeria and bottle shop offers traditionally made pizzas, craft beer and speciality wine.  The staff, who make La Bocca what it is, are some cool cats with a couple of crazy gen X hipsters thrown in.  They love what they do, they’re passionate about the quality of product they sell, they’re totally into supporting local and they’re all for creating awareness around men’s health issues. For anyone interested in joining this hair today, gone tomorrow, back again in November crew or want to assist them in this undertaking; check out their Facebook page for the full details.  If you’re simply interested in enjoying a groovy night under the stars with DJ Alfie, delicious pizzas, specially selected wines and beers and to witness shaving guru Matt from Barberoy at Coolangatta in action, then come along on Saturday October 25.  Full details can be found at facebook.com/LaBoccaPizzaCurrumbin or call 5534 7999
