Indi/Folk songsmith Luke Morris was born and raised in the small coastal town of Port Lincoln on South Australia’s west coast. In 2012 Luke made the move to Byron Bay to begin his career in music.
In 2015 Luke Independently made his debut into the music industry with his nine – track album titled ‘Sugarcane Road’. The album had a much greater impact then Luke imagined with over half a million streams and the invitation to play at Australia’s premier ‘Blues and Roots Festival’ and ‘Splendour In the Grass Festival.’ When asked Luke said ‘I had little expectation for the album. I was just happy to put some music out there for my friends and family. I had no idea it would turn into a career.’
He then followed up with the release of his singles, ‘I Was Somewhere Else’, ‘When It All Goes Down’ and ‘The Party’ which featured on major Australian radio station Triple J and was added to rotation on Triple J Unearthed. “This sounds like an afternoon by the beach in summer” wrote Don Alessio of Triple J.
2017 was a milestone yeah for Luke with national sellout shows along with a string of support shows and all whilst recording his follow up record due to be released early 2018. Luke will also be touring through Europe with dates to be announced soon.
Previous artists Luke has supported include, Holy Holy, The Rubens, Mia Dyson and Busby Marou.
