Stage 1A of our renovation is so close to being completed and we’re super excited to announce that we’ll have a brand new, gorgeous dining precinct ready on Monday 16 December! We said a fond farewell to Alleys Restaurant in September and now no one is more thrilled than Lisa, our Restaurant Manager who I think was willing to don her hard hat and help with the construction if it wasn’t ready on time 🙂
It’s always a challenge working while a renovation is on but it has brought all staff a lot closer, literally. The Café staff were squeezed in behind the counter with our baristas dodging our bar people and our till staff avoiding our carvery chefs while they weaved around staff serving up food. The occasional glass would break from all the vibrating going on from jackhammering behind the construction wall which kept them on their toes like a game of musical chairs! Our dishies, chefs and wait staff have done thousands of trips up and down the lift carrying every dish and piece of cutlery that has been used as well as everything that was cooked in the Functions kitchen upstairs. That was the entire Deck Creekside Café menu except for La Bocca pizzas.
And boy has it been worth it! From the crazy paving to the bi-fold doors to the funky wall paper and tiles, we’re all loving the bright, light, shiny new vibe that has been created. The dining precinct looks incredible and the great news is that the new menu tastes just as good as the new space looks.
We have our very own Chippery – especially for lovers of fries! Load up your favourite fries or sweet potato and cassava wedges with gravy, cheese, ranch dressing or vegan aioli or if you’re really hungry you can load them up Mexican style with cheese, salsa, guacamole and sour cream.
For the meat lovers, new menu items include sticky spicy barbeque chicken wings for those who like it hot and honey soy chicken wings for those who like a little less ‘kapow’! There’s also juicy burgers, a Thai beef salad and the ever popular Rotisserie which will serve up your favourite roast meats. If you’re a part of the parmie army, there’s five types of parmies to choose from now so you can have a different one every week night!
Vegans can rejoice because there’s plenty of vegan friendly dishes to choose from: fried Mediterranean spiced cauliflower florets, vegan fries, vegan ‘chicken’ scallopini, a vegan burger, nourish grazing bowl and a lip-smacking coconut chia pudding for dessert.
We haven’t forgotten our gluten free friends with plenty of gluten friendly options to choose from including pan seared barramundi, cassava wedges (I’ve taste tested these with my fellow GF friend Gay on Reception and our tastebuds both jumped for joy!) and most desserts are gluten friendly too.
And for the sentimental folk, your favourite Alleys dishes are baaaaaaack! Mouth-watering Nolan’s Private Selection rump, pork belly, tandoori chicken and delicious desserts you know and love including our house made sticky date pudding, white chocolate crème brulee and drunken affogato.
Our new booking system will be up and running from Wednesday 18 December so please call Reception on 5534 7999 from Wednesday to make a booking. Lunch is served from 11:30am until 2:30pm and dinner is available from 5pm. There is also an All Day menu if you need some nourishment outside the lunch and dinner hours from 10am until about 8:30pm.
Stage 1B of our renovation will commence mid-January 2020 on the Café area and Main Bar. Area. This face lift will be finished in time for ANZAC Day 2020. Keep up to date by following our Facebook and Instagram pages.
