This soulful dreamer from the Gold Coast pairs his love for lo-fi Hip-hop and Michael Jackson into a unique brand of RnB. Luke’s laid-back lush vocals and slow moving deep grooves, are perfect for Deck Acoustics.
After performing for 3 years as the front man of “Timber Bones”; a psych rock outfit from the Northern Rivers, Luke took a break from music to find a new groove. Inspired by the likes of Anderson .Paak and late nights listening to Chilled Cow’s “lofi hip hop radio – beats to relax/study to”, he wanted to create something smoky, smooth and low-key. A sound that can blend into your everyday life, but still have the depth to take you on a journey.
“Only You” is the first single from his anticipated debut album. Luke wrote the track in the studio with co-producer Caleb James. The groove was originally for another track’s verse, but as it started coming together Luke decided to pull it out and make it its own song. Only You is about that rock in your life that keeps you centred, in this case, his dog Oden. “There is something very special about the calm a dog can bring to your life, making any of the storms you face a little brighter and easier to endure.” Luke Pauley.
