Why is the 2019 service significant?
This year marks 101 years since the end of Australia’s involvement in the First World War.
ANZAC Day is a time to honour the sacrifice and service contributed by our original ANZACs, and the many Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who have defended and continue to defend our values and freedom in wars, conflicts and peace operations throughout a century of service.
On 25 April 2019 the community will come together to commemorate 101 years since the end of the First World War. This day is recognised for its historical significance and also the part it played in shaping a new nation.
