Talented Currumbin RSL Apprentice Chef James Towers was recently a Top Ten finalist in the National Bidfood Apprentice Chef Competition.
The competition attracted hundreds of entries from around Australia, including entries from Sydney’s Star Casino and other top restaurants.
Competitors had to create a scallop dish using Ocean Choice Canadian Scallops and the results were stunning.
As a National Top Ten Finalist James was awarded with a Certificate of Achievement as well as a $100 myBidfood voucher and Ocean Choice/Bidfood engraved Sashimi knife valued at $350.
James said, “I am honoured to be a top ten finalist in this prestigious competition. I am very grateful for the opportunity and would like to thank Bidfood and Ocean Choice for sponsoring this competition. I have learnt so much from participating in this wonderful event.”
Currumbin RSL Executive Chef Felicity Best is an award winner herself and is proud of James’ achievement.
Felicity said, “We are so proud of James, this is a fantastic start to what will be an amazing career. His work is always of a high standard and he thoroughly deserves this award.”
