Participate in one of Australia’s most scenic running events this 10 November 2018.
The Mateship Run is an opportunity to come together and recognise the extraordinary contribution our armed services make – past and current – through participating in a healthy fun run or walk, while also helping ‘Young Veteran Support Services’ raise awareness and funds.
This year’s fundraising beneficiary ‘Young Veterans Support Services’, (YVSS) is an organisation providing younger veterans access to a range of services and activities that help with the challenges of transitioning to civilian life. This includes programs that offer social, education and employment opportunities, and improved physical and psychological health and wellbeing.
The program also includes weekly social activities for veterans and their families.
The Mateship Run features events for a range of different runner levels including a 1.5km walk, 1.5km Junior Bolt, a 5km walk or run and the 10km run. The variety of events and distances means everyone can get involved regardless of their level of fitness.
The Mateship run encourages entrants to take part with friends, family and work colleagues as we celebrate the camaraderie and mateship of our heroes. Better still set yourself a goal and raise money for Younger Veterans to help encourage yourself to achieve the goal.
The Veteran’ Support Centre offers a range of support services including a psychologist and advocacy services and this year they celebrate their 20th birthday.
By taking part in the Mateship Run participants receive a number of freebies and goodies for taking part, both from Event Organisers and Sponsors alike – visit the Mateship Run website for more information. .
The run finishes and starts at Currumbin RSL, where you can also come into club and enjoy the post run vibe and celebrate your efforts.
