Currumbin RSL Sub Branch is pleased to announce details regarding our 2021 ANZAC Day services. Whilst recent government announcements have identified relaxations for this year’s services, Currumbin RSL Sub Branch has considered the health and welfare of our veteran community, the logistical requirements to hosting such a large event at short notice and the likelihood of last minute cancellations and decided to stay with earlier plans to bring the service back to the Club Cenotaph for 2021. This doesn’t mean that it will always be at the club, rather it will be reviewed annually and in 2022 could return to Elephant Rock. For 2021 our priority is veteran and community safety. Please note the Dawn Service, Mid-morning service and luncheon at Currumbin RSL is strictly for Sub Branch members & veterans due to COVID capacity and not for the general public. You will need to register for these.

Poppy Installations and Lighting of Bridges and Buildings
17th April 2021 Saturday – 26th April 2021

Currumbin RSL has an exciting local visual commemorative project planned for ANZAC 2021.

The project involves the knitting & crocheting of thousands of poppies to be installed at a prominent local setting as a visual representation of community commemoration.
We would love your help-donations of wool, knitting or crotcheting & any other assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated.

A lovely group of knitters and crocheters meet at the club every Tuesday morning at 10.30am for a chat, a cuppa and some frenzied crafting. Just come along to be part of this wonderful way to participate in the project.

Check our Facebook page for regular updates & get involved as an individual or with a group.

We will be installing 3 poppy installations at 3 locations including; a red poppy installation for remembrance at Currumbin RSL, a purple poppy installation at the Animal Heroes Memorial at Dune Café in Palm Beach Parklands and a white poppy installation at Elephant Rock symbolising peace.

We are collecting donations of 8 ply wool at the club, or if you would like to knit or crotchet, contact us to register your interest via the form button below!

Walk 4 remembrance

Walk 4 remembrance

LET'S TAKE A WALK 4 REMEMBRANCE – Supported by Currumbin RSL.

Dedicated to all those who served our nation and were overwhelmed by the battle within.

This is an opportunity for the community to come together to support each other, raise awareness to those veterans who have lost their lives to suicide, break the silence on mental illness and contribute to the funding of programs that are making a difference to veterans.

The walk is 8km and will commence at Gilltrap Park in Coolangatta and finish at Currumbin RSL to bring attention to the plight of veterans and the importance of mental health and support. As you make your way on the route you will be cheered by onlooking supporters and finally greeted with celebrations of your great walk and amazing impact you have made in the pursuit to raise awareness of veteran suicide and mental illness. We are also now expanding this event to be a virtual walk, so you can be involved anywhere in the world and walk 8km at 8am on the 18th of April.
