Currumbin RSL Sub Branch is pleased to announce details regarding our 2021 ANZAC Day services. Whilst recent government announcements have identified relaxations for this year’s services, Currumbin RSL Sub Branch has considered the health and welfare of our veteran community, the logistical requirements to hosting such a large event at short notice and the likelihood of last minute cancellations and decided to stay with earlier plans to bring the service back to the Club Cenotaph for 2021. This doesn’t mean that it will always be at the club, rather it will be reviewed annually and in 2022 could return to Elephant Rock. For 2021 our priority is veteran and community safety. Please note the Dawn Service, Mid-morning service and luncheon at Currumbin RSL is strictly for Sub Branch members & veterans due to COVID capacity and not for the general public. You will need to register for these.

Poppy Installations and Lighting of Bridges and Buildings
17th April 2021 Saturday – 26th April 2021

Wow is an understatement of both how many poppies were hand made by the community and also the final installations!

As part of our installations we have:

– Elephant Rock: White poppies, ‘peace’ at the top of the rock and lighting the rock red every night.

– Dune Cafe (at Palm beach Parklands): Purple poppies with the words honour.

– Currumbin RSL: Red Poppy Installation at entry, plus whole front of club is lit up red.

These are a must to see in person at day or night. They will be up until ANZAC Day.

WALK 4 REMEMBRANCE – Supported by Currumbin RSL.

Wow, what a morning for our inaugural Walk For Remembrance on Sunday 18th of April, dedicated to all those who served our nation and were overwhelmed by the battle within. The weather was amazing and so was everyone involved. Over 230 participants in red walked from Gilltrap Park to Currumbin RSL cenotaph to help raise awareness and show support. A beautiful unveiling of the Cor Infinitus plaque was had following the walk.
