WALK4
REMEMBRANCE

Sunday April 21st, 2024

Following three years of remarkable success, the Walk4Remembrance is making a triumphant return in 2024.

This event provides a significant opportunity for our community to unite, fostering support, and raising awareness for veterans who have lost their lives to internal battles. By breaking the silence surrounding mental illness, we aim to contribute to the funding of impactful programs that are actively making a difference in the lives of veterans. Join us in this meaningful endeavour as we stride together towards a brighter future.

The approx. 8km walk will commence from Currumbin RSL Reserve out by the creek with the half way turning point being at Tugun Surf Life Saving Club.

All funds raised will be donated to the Veteran Support Centre so they can continue to provide quality support and service to veterans.

On the completion of the walk, a small cenotaph service will be held to remember those veterans who have lost their lives from the battle within.

DAWN SERVICE ELEPHANT ROCK APRIL 25, 2024

CURRUMBIN RSL DAWN SERVICE

Currumbin RSL Dawn Service will return to Elephant Rock on Currumbin Beach on Thursday April 25, 2024.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Elephant Rock on Currumbin Beach, the Currumbin RSL Dawn Service, considered the largest regional dawn service in Australia, returns on Thursday, April 25, 2024. This annual commemoration is a heartfelt tribute to the ANZACs, as well as a solemn acknowledgment of the valiant men and women who have served in all wars, conflicts, peacekeeping missions and those still serving today. Beyond honouring the collective sacrifices, this day unfolds as a poignant narrative, delving into the personal stories of service personnel across the spectrum of past and modern conflicts. Thousands will be in attendance, standing side by side, as we join together in this reverent observance to pay respects and intimately explore the experiences that shape the legacy of our brave servicemen and women.

The march will commence at 4:35am, leading the way to the solemn dawn service at 5am. In a significant testament to the importance of this event, Channel 7 Sunrise will be broadcasting the Dawn Service Live Nationwide & Internationally, bringing the solemnity and reverence of the occasion to a broader audience. Alternatively, for a more intimate connection, we extend a heartfelt invitation to join us at our mid-morning service by the club’s cenotaph. Your presence at either event would be a cherished addition to this day of reflection and commemoration.
