ACT for Kids provides free professional therapy to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect and has helped thousands of children and families since it was established as the Abused Child Trust in 1988.
Their unique multi-disciplinary teams provide intensive therapy, sexual abuse counseling, safe houses in remote indigenous communities, youth mentoring, family coaches and a preschool designed for children with additional development needs to ensure they’re set up for success at school.
All their services are provided free of charge, while they receive some government funding they rely heavily on donations and fundraising to expand and develop their services, reach out to more children and families in need and remain independent and sustainable.
