ANZAC Day 2014
25th April 2014, 5:00am
The Anzac Day Dawn Service will once again be a major Australian Event. We extend an invitation to attend this NATIONAL day of remembrance and join us back at Currumbin RSL after the Dawn Service.
We encourage you to utilise our free ‘Park and Ride’ service for your convenience and safety, as there will be significant road closures around Currumbin Beach from 3am. The ‘Park and Ride’ options are from Currumbin RSL and The Pines Shopping Centre both commencing at 3:30am and running continuously until the commencement of the Dawn Service. World War Two Veterans will be picked up at Currumbin RSL and transported to the march assembly point at Murraba Street.
On completion of the Dawn Service the buses will return patrons back to these locations. Anyone wishing to attend the Gunfire Breakfast should take the Currumbin RSL Park and Ride. Please note: return buses will leave from the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
Those of our community with next of kin medals; you are invited to march at both services as a sincere gesture of respect, as we believe your next of kin would want it that way.
The mid morning service at the Currumbin RSL Cenotaph is to allow those who are unable to attend the Dawn Service an opportunity to participate.
Currumbin RSL will offer Two Up and live entertainment by duo group Crossroads. Lunch bookings are available at Alleys Restaurant. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
