The South GC Community Hub connects the local community of Tugun, Currumbin, Currumbin Waters, Palm Beach, Tallebudgera, Elanora and surrounding areas.
An initiative of the award winning Currumbin RSL, The Hub seeks to assist our community by activating social innovation by providing information about local opportunities to work, play, learn, collaborate, and innovate together.
As a connector of people, The Hub promotes existing activities, clubs, societies, workshops and the like to the community and also generates new opportunities for coming together such as workshops, classes, seminars, fitness activities etc.
We believe that amazing things happen when people who are working towards a better world have the opportunity to share, converse, and collaborate. We also hope to reduce isolation among the aged and cross-generational inclusion and skill sharing to engage members of the community who would not otherwise normally do so.

Currumbin RSL Fishing Club was formed around 1980 when a group of local fisherman decided to hold a competition in Currumbin Creek, where they set species and bag limits. They enjoyed this so much that after consultation with the RSL, they decided to form the Fishing Club.
The weigh-ins were held on the banks of the creek in front of the Club using a scale hanging of a tree. Membership grew and the club members erected the shed which still stands on the creek bank.
Currumbin RSL gave permission for the Fishing Club to move across the road and again with true Club spirit, members built the Clubhouse behind the Caretakers Shed.
In 2011 the Fishing Club held the QAFCA State Titles for Beach and Rock Fishing with a successful turn up that made the QAFCA very happy.
The Club’s Estuary Competition consists of Mens A. Mens B, Ladies, Veterans and Junior Divisions and we also have a Blue Water Competition for our boaties. The competitions are held approximately every two weeks and include two competitions against Seagulls Fishing Club and a trip to Woody Head each year.
The Fishing Club is a social club, so if you love your fishing and like to have a chat with fellow fishermen/women contact either Neil Graham or Leanne Gordon for more information.

In 2011 Currumbin RSL launched our own Community Garden and Worm Farm. Anyone is welcome to be a part of it. When you volunteer at our Community Garden you will learn how to create your own veggie garden at home. It is great fun for people of any age and can reduce your weekly grocery bill and increase your green thumb in the global community. If you are interesting in getting involved call the Club on 07 5534 7999. We’d love to hear your gardening tips! If you have one please share it on our Facebook page.
We’d love to help build and support your local business! If you would like to be a part of our Local Partners, simply call 5534 7999 or send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
