EC3 Global Environmental Best Practice Award goes to…
Currumbin RSL
This award recognises outstanding achievement in adopting measures that go towards reducing a club’s environmental footprint and thereby contribute to a more sustainable future for our communities. To achieve this outcome, clubs will be operating in such a way that they use fewer resources, minimise their waste products and as a result reduce greenhouse gases which are believed to have a detrimental impact on our environment. We are looking for clubs that are showing leadership by adopting measures that utilise energy efficiency, water efficiency, waste reduction and recycling and are choosing to use products that minimise their club’s environmental impact.
This is the first year this award has been offered and we are very proud to accept this. The Club would like to say a special thank you to Brian Colwell our former Environmental Sustainability officer for all his hard work and to thank Kristy Smith for taking over the projects
