‘Think Global Love Local’ November 2011
November 2, 2011
‘Think Global Love Local’ is Currumbin RSL’s green motto and this month we are putting a spotlight on the environment.
Our inspiration for this green initiative came from our visit to the Currumbin Special School Community Garden and Cabarita Bowls Club Worm Farm. Back in September our, CEO (Anne Stovin), Currumbin RSL staff and a group of passionate ‘greenies’ visited both these organisations and found them a community inspiration for their vegetable patches, irrigation, chicken house, bee house and worm farms.
Thus, here at Currumbin RSL we are also embarking on a greener lifestyle and this month we are launching our own Community Garden and Worm Farm which anyone is welcome to be a part of.
Volunteer at our Community Garden and learn how to create your own veggie garden at home. It’s great fun for any age, can reduce your weekly grocery bill, bring transformation to your home’s outdoor setting and increase your “green thumb” in the global community. Also, to find out what the benefits of a Worm Farm can do your business and/or garden go to the link above.
For more information on how to get involved contact the club on Ph: 07 5534 7999. We’d love to hear your gardening tips! As I’m sure would many people. If you have one, please share it on our Facebook Page
