Kerry Treks for Fred Hollows Foundation!

Our savvy Community and Relationships Manager Kerry Shepherd will be trekking the 60km Wild Women’s Coast Trek in Sydney from Manly/Kiribilli to Bondi beach this Friday the 16 March.

Raising funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation, the trek itself takes place on the most scenic Australian coastlines.

This is an incredible challenge and one that Kerry has been training intensively for over the last six months along with three other girlfriends.

With a goal of raising $1,100, a $25 donation can fix needless blindness in a third world country.

Kerry says, “You really get to know other women when you walk with them 10km per day. It’s been such a fun team of friends wanting to all do something really wonderful. We have had a blast and can’t wait for Friday.”

The Fred Hollows Foundation is close to Kerry’s convictions by restoring eye-sight back to communities that need it most in a sustainable manner.

On behalf of everyone at Currumbin RSL, there are no doubts in our minds that you’ll have no troubles completing this course! We are so proud of you and are with you all the way!

‘Every eye is an eye. When you are doing the surgery there, that is just as important as if you were doing eye surgery on the prime minister or the king’ –Professor Fred Hollows
