During the much anticipated Commonwealth Games, I’m sure you’re all aware that transportation in and around the Gold Coast will be different to usual.
The impacts as a result will be certain change road conditions and during this time Currumbin RSL on the Southern Gold Coast is the perfect home away from home for all our visiting athletes and officials. Situated right on Currumbin Creek we have loads happening in club to keep the hype and excitement alive.
The busiest week during the Games is expected to be from Monday 9th of April – Sunday 15th April. With road closures, changed time tables on public transport and the rush of school holidays, it is the perfect time for a Travelution!
So, what is a Travelution? It is the evolution and revolution of travel and modes of transportation. What can you do to get involved? Bike ride, Walk, SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board), Roll, Skate or and even horse ride if need be!
The Travelution will take place during the 10th – 14th April when the Commonwealth Games road races will be taking place. Minimal changes will be in place and the Club will Trade as usual on Tuesday 10 April.
On Saturday 14 April the Club will open the Deck Cafe and Bar from midday with a full club open, once roads open at 6:00pm, with La Bocca Pizza and the Cafe available through the Club (Alleys Restaurant will be unavailableon this day).
Better still, during the Commonwealth Games the Club will be hosting events such as SoundLounge gigs, Deck acoustics and the GC2018 live on big screens thanks to 7News.

The Club will be open everyday of the Commonwealth Games.
Tuesday 10th April: Full Club Open 10:00 am till late
Saturday 14th April: The Deck Creekside Bar & Café open 12:00 pm until late.
Full club open 6pm until late, with La Bocca and the Cafe menu available (Alleys Restaurant will be unavailable).
