The band features a collection of highly professional musicians, each with over 25 years’ experience. With a passion for live music and a song list ranging from the rock and roll of the 60’s right up to the fresh hits of today; the band will have you totally entertained throughout their performance. Introducing the band members:
Kelly is a truly versatile, dynamic and soulful vocalist with 20 years of live music experience playing across venues in the UK, Europe and Australia. As lead singer with her band Tabooz, Kelly co-wrote their original radio hit ‘See the light’ and regularly appeared on Maltese TV and radio. She’s worked as a session singer recording radio jingles and was a backing vocalist for local Maltese star, Ira Losco, performing on Eurovision Song for Malta and supporting Elton John on his Malta Tour before starring in her own Cabaret-style solo show in Cyprus. Also familiar with the Brisbane and Gold Coast music scene, Kelly has performed at many local venues and functions with the duo The Fretz & Mezzo Collective, formerly known as Sticky Fingers, for the past seven years.
Gary has been performing as a Percussionist/Drummer for more than 20 years. Over the years, Gary has played in numerous bands and has played everything from rockabilly to Jazz, performing at major venues, festivals, corporate events and private celebrations. Prior to establishing Vinyl Frenzy, Gary performed with top Sydney bands such as The Impacts, Get Back and Just a Few. He has also worked as a session drummer in Brisbane and Sydney.
Andrew has composed music, played and sung in bands and duos for over 40 years. He plays guitar, piano, drums and harmonica. He was the winner of the ABC’s Greatest Christmas Song Never Written competition in 2009 and his song “Christmas Time” was included on the ABC’s play list across Australia. He is also recognized by his song “Vietnam” which several radio stations have played. Andrew has previously released a CD called “For Your Ears Only”. In 2012 Andrew released a new CD called “Every Song has a Story” to capture the songs he performs in the presentation of the same name and has received rave reviews.
Chris has formal music qualifications from Trinity College of Music and Monash University. He has spent the last two decades in Hong Kong and the UK where he performed in Jazz/Pop and Classical ensembles as well as numerous musical theatre and concert productions. Performances included consular, government functions and Canto Pop events at Hong Kong Government House and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Whilst a resident in the U.K. Chris was employed in the house band on the P&O ship Aurora travelling the globe. Chris also plays banjo, bass and mandolin and enjoys playing most styles of music.
Simon has been playing bass for 30 years, his passion for the bass guitar developed after hearing the album “The Hurtin” by Tears For Fears. In the 90’s Simon toured the UK with local up and coming rock band Heartbreaker, after releasing their successful debut album “Timequake”. Since that time Simon has played in various bands across the UK playing a mix of original music and covers. After relocating to Australia he joined Sunshine Coast rock band ‘The Truce’ opening for Aussie rockers ‘Massive’, ‘The Screaming Jets’ and ‘The Radiators’.
