Customer Liaison
‘Here at The Best Little Club in the World, we endeavor to make your experience that extra bit special’.
Joe Young – Customer Liason Officer
How long have you been working at Currumbin RSL and in which department/s?
I have been working at Currumbin RSL for over five and a half years. I started at the club as a waiter/barman within Alleys Restaurant and then also worked in the Event Room for different functions i.e. wedding ceremonies, birthday parties, ANZAC day and Melbourne Cup etc. By the end of my second year, I then progressed to restaurant supervisor within Alleys, and recently, my new role is in member relations as the Customer Liaison Officer.
What kind of tasks would you perform on a daily basis as the Customer Liaison Officer?
On a daily basis, I meet and greet visitors, give directions and provide assistance to our customers needs. I provide drink service, food service, assistance with membership database, membership and renewals, pokie payouts, focus groups, liaise with members and vallet service.
Can you recall any memorial moments from working here at the Club? The Farmer Wants a Wife host, (Natalie Gruzlewski) and crew visited the club, along with the Gold Coast Titans – which was awesome! Also, I remember a very special occasion when a member celebrated their 105th birthday, (with a drop of Riesling in Alleys Restaurant). For me, these occasions would have to be some of the top standouts.
Melissa Gibb – Customer Liason Officer
How long have you been working at Currumbin RSL and in which department/s?
I have been with Currumbin RSL for approximately eighteen months of which I started as a gaming lounge employee and now my new exciting role is the Customer Liaison Officer.
Can you recall any memorial moments from working here at the Club?
Attending this year’s Remembrance Day Service, I was extremely moved and proud to be a part of the clubs operations to honor the fallen who have given the greatest sacrifice so we can be here today and do what we do. It is wonderful to be part of a club that does so much for the community as well as the environment i.e. our community garden, worm farm and Think Local Love Global initiatives.
